Music history documents

Stephen taught 'A' level music for 10 years (UK pre-university qualification usually for 16-19 year olds). These are documents he wrote and gave to his students. Download and distribute them as freely as you wish.

The outline of western music history also has a couple of theory chapters. One is a simple way of writing key signatures for those of you yet to do grade 5 theory. The second is a description of related keys. The summary of characteristics is intended to help with stylistic questions in listening papers.
