Stephen has accompanied countless performances of instrumental chamber music. He has been a member of unusual trio combinations for piano, viola and contralto; piano viola and clarinet.
Stephen accompanies many young people at exams, festivals, auditions and concerts. He has introduced a number of young soloists at venues such as Boston Stump, the Allegro Appassionata concerts in Louth and Music at Midday series in Rochdale.
He offers coaching in performance skills and accompaniment sessions for instrumentalists and singers whose teachers do not play the piano.
Stephen was the festival accompanist at the annual West Pennine Music Festival in Oldham for ten years. Other festivals he has appeared at include Harrogate, Whitby, Southport, Barnsley and Lincoln.

Exam fees include 1 rehearsal. Extra rehearsals charged at his normal teaching fee of £18.00 per hour.
Graded music exams 1 - 7: the entry fee for the exam + expenses.
Grade 8 and Diploma exams: entry fee + 50% + expenses. The extra charge reflects the amount of preparation required for exams at this level.
Competitions, auditions and recitals: by negotiation. The fee will depend on the complexity of the music; distance traveled and time spent in travel; length of event.
